The hoardings surrounding the new Tyne Tunnel Crossing were given a facelift recently, with Artworks telling the story of Jarrow, featuring the Jarrow March and the 8th Century scholar the Venerable Bede, stretching its almost 80 metre length.
The project was developed by youth organisation Find Your Talent, in partnership with tunnel operator TT2 Ltd and contractor Bouygues Travaux Publics, to give young people a chance to make a valuable contribution to the tunnel project.
Tamsin Greulich, Communications Manager of TT2 and Associate Director of Wood Holmes can be seen talking about the event here: http://www.stcentral.tv/playlists/aconstructionsiteforsoreeyes.txt
This is also a timely nod to the Venerable Bede as Wood Holmes is currently conducting the public consultation for the Wearmouth-Jarrow bid for World Heritage site status of the twin monasteries of St Peter’s church in Wearmouth and St Pauls church, Jarrow. More information and details of how to show your support can be found on the Wearmouth Jarrow website here: http://www.wearmouth-jarrow.org.uk
